Iranian filmmaker Dariush Mehrjoui has been praised at the opening ceremony of the 10th Muscat International Film Festival (MIFF) in Oman.
As the event kicked off, Mehrjoui was talked about and hailed, with visuals being projected on the screen for the audience.
Held every two years, the festival has seen the participation of some of the big names from around the world including international actors such as Forest Whitaker and Amitabh Bachchan.
The six-day MIFF is also witnessing special screenings for women and children and covering issues of the region, both political and social.
The 10th edition of the Omani event, slated for March 26-31, 2018, is currently underway in Muscat.
